PUBLIC LECTURES BY PROF. DR. MUHAMMAD AL-SOLAH Head of Islamic Centre, Texas, USA and Lecturer of Univ. Al-Azhar

The Islamic Information Centre (IIC) will hold two Public Lectures on Islam and Current Challenges on July 30th, 2010, 8.30am at the Dewan Santapan, Sarawak State Legislative Assembly (DUN), and Islam and Inter-Communal Relations on July 31st, 2010 at 8:30am at the auditorium of the Centre.
The distinguished speaker invited by the Centre for these lectures is Professor Dr. Muhammad al-Solah, a well-known Islamic scholar in the United States and Head of the Islamic Centre of Victoria, Texas. Dr. Muhammad al-Solah is the founder of two Islamic and Arabic schools, namely Iman Stems and the Muslim Generation. He is the presenter of Ask Huda, one of the most well-known Fatawa programs broadcast at Huda TV, Egypt where he also works as the religious supervisor of the Huda TV.
Dr. Solah had 400 live broadcasting hours in Egyptian, Arabic and American television stations. He teaches at Al-Azhar University, Shariah Academy and London College. He speaks Arabic and English fluently. He presents a famous TV program called Correct your Recitation. He obtained his BA in Shari'ah and Islamic Law from the University of Al-Azhar and BA in pharmacology as well as a four-year diploma in Muslim arts and Arabic calligraphy. He obtained his pre-master diploma in Islamic studies from the American Open University.
The lectures are organised as part of the Islamic Information Centre’s efforts in promoting and communicating the universality of Islam so as to create a better understanding and an enhanced appreciation of Islam among the multi-ethnic and multi-religious populace of Sarawak.
